A Week of Firsts

Last week was a week full of firsts for Ella Kate.

1. Our first full week of summer vacation.
I call this her Nantucket outfit, Pink Searsucker.

Speaking of summer.... My hydrangeas are starting to bloom and my pots have really taken off.

2. First night sleeping in her room, in her crib.
Don't ask how that is going
My baby that slept through the night at 6 weeks, now likes to wake up Mommy and .... sometimes Daddy in the middle of the night.

This was my good little sleeper.

This is one of my favorite pics of Ella.

Now I've seen more of this around 4 am.

3. First night away from her Mommy.
She had a day and half of Daddy all to herself.

Our house has been so hot without air conditioning, I think Ella will be spending a lot of time in just a diaper. She loves to watch her Daddy drink, so fascinating to her.

4. First time in a swimsuit and in her new baby pool.
I have to say she's pretty adorable in swimsuit.

She just got lubed up with sunscreen

Helping with the yard work.

We are super excited for our first 4th of July! Have a great weekend celebrating with your loved ones. God Bless the USA!

Four Months

.......Well actually she is 4 months and one week today. Time is just flying by. (insert tears) This afternoon I took some cute pictures with her new flower headband. She was trying the headband out for the wedding the I'm in next month.

 Look at my toesies!

Love this silly pic. The drool was caught in action.

Now that I'm on summer vacation, Little Miss Ella is moving to her big girl crib. Last night, our first night, went really good- only one binky put in. We're so proud of her! Mark made a joking comment."Well that was easy, Ella is trained". Yeah, just when you say that....I have a feeling we won't always be that lucky. Hopefully tonight she'll do it again.
Sleep Baby Sleep!

Good Night!

Finally Summer!

Today is the first day of summer and the last day at work for the next 9 weeks. I'm so glad because the  craziness of last week has finally caught up with me. I went back to school full time, report cards, memory books, saying goodbye to 24 first graders, classroom clean up, doctor appointment, camping and father's day.

A week ago we went up to Portland for our cousin in-law Kylie's baby shower. They are expecting a little girl in the beginning of August. Ella is excited about having a little playmate!

Shannone is also having a baby due in October. So many cousins!

Before the shower, Mikey took us to the downtown waterfront for the last day of the Rose Festival.

Dragon Boat Races

Ella slept the entire time down on the waterfront. Just too much excitement.

Thank you Mikey and Andrea for the wonderful hospitality!

Ella had her 4 month check up this week.
She is a healthy 12 pounds 14 oz and 24 inches tall. She had 3 shots and 1 oral vaccination.

This weekend, we went camping at Harbor Vista Campground in Florence for Father's Day.
We had the nicest weather, 70 degrees and sunny and .......no wind!
It was beautiful and we loved the new Motorhome!

Thanks for the cute hat Jenny!

Happy First Father's Day Daddy!  You're the Best in the World!

Ella's first time in a swing. She wasn't so sure about this at first but after awhile she Loved it!

The next day we took a hike down to the jetty and beach.

Major the Bulldog

Big Girl!

We're excited for the rest of summer- camping, swimming, Minnesota, weddings, playdates, bbqs and so much more!

My Sewing Partner

This week I did some sewing on a few projects that I have been putting off since I went back to work. Ella was a great little sewing partner. She seemed fascinated by the sound of the sewing machine, at least for awhile. As I worked, I couldn't help think about how I am going to teach Ella how to sew and how much fun we are going to have working on projects together.
Just love my girl!

Watch the progression of  Ella as I work.
"Let sew Mom!"

"Just a little tired Mom, I think I'll just rest my head"

Too much excitement!

There goes the binky! She is out!

Last Weekend

Here are some other pics from this last weekend
Ella's first ride in Grandpa's Red Convertible. Don't worry, we didn't pull a Britney Spears. My dad only held Ella for a quick pic. He needs to install some seat belts in the back so we can really take a cruise.

Grandma Valerie and Ella.

Happiest Baby Ever on Sunday!
